Setting up your Riafin account is quick and easy. This guide walks you through the registration process, email verification, and initial profile setup.

Before You Begin

To create your Riafin account, you'll need:

  • A valid email address
  • Phone number for verification
  • Approximately 10 minutes to complete your profile

Step-by-Step Registration

Account Information Requirements

Personal Information

You'll need to provide:

  • Full Legal Name: As it appears on your government ID
  • Email Address: This will be your login username
  • Phone Number: For verification and advisor communications
  • Date of Birth: To verify you're over 18
  • Zip Code: To match you with local advisors

Security Best Practices

When creating your password:

  • Use at least 12 characters
  • Mix uppercase and lowercase letters
  • Include numbers and special characters
  • Avoid using personal information (birthdays, names)
  • Use a unique password you don't use elsewhere

Consider using a password manager to generate and store secure passwords.

Email Verification Process

After registering, you must verify your email address before accessing all features:

  1. Check your inbox for an email from noreply@riafin.com
  2. Click the "Verify Email Address" button in the email
  3. You'll be redirected back to Riafin and can start using your account

Setting Up Your Profile

Once your account is verified, complete your investor profile to get the best matches:

Goals Short-term and long-term objectives
Experience Investment knowledge and history
Preferences Communication style, meeting frequency

Optional Information

While not required, providing this information improves your matches:

  • Specific investment interests (ESG, real estate, etc.)

  • Accessibility needs

Two-Factor Authentication (2FA)

We strongly recommend enabling 2FA for added security:

  1. Go to Account Settings → Security
  2. Click "Enable Two-Factor Authentication"
  3. Choose your method (SMS or authenticator app)
  4. Follow the setup instructions

Troubleshooting Common Issues

"Email already in use"

If you see this error, you may have already created an account. Try:

  • Using the "Forgot Password" feature
  • Checking if you have another email address
  • Contacting support if you believe this is an error

Not receiving verification email

  • Wait 5-10 minutes (sometimes emails are delayed)
  • Check spam/junk folders
  • Add noreply@riafin.com to your contacts
  • Request a new verification email

"Invalid phone number"

  • Ensure you're using a valid US phone number
  • Don't include the country code (+1)
